ISO 9001:2015 benefits for manufacturing companies

Many organizations of varying types use ISO 9001:2015 as a recognized method of delivering customer satisfaction and controlling quality of product and service within their chosen sector. From huge organizations such as Richard Branson’s Virgin enterprise to local coffee shops, ISO 9001:2015 not only can be used to deliver improvements and help guarantee quality, but the accreditation is often seen as a guarantee of uniformity of product and services across borders, languages, and cultural boundaries. Therefore, having ISO 9001:2015 accreditation can be seen as positive on a reputational basis, as well as a practical one. But, is it fair to say that organizations in some sectors can benefit more from the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 than in other sectors? And, on that basis, is there extra benefit from adopting ISO 9001:2015 principles for companies in the manufacturing and production sectors?

New Kitchen Launch

Today we opened our new kitchen at our factory in Knowsley. Since we started the refurb at the beginning of the month I’ve had people comment that ‘it’s only a work kitchen’ or ‘it’s not like it’s your house’. When you spend more time at work than at home why would you not want the facilities to be as nice/nicer than your home? To be inspired as a leader you need a great environment to develop your plans in and motivate you and if you want your team to take pride in their work and produce work of a high standard then surely you have to make the environment they work in a place they are proud and happy to be!

Return of the Mac!

In 1976, the year before I was born, my grandpa Les Bowen established the company Bomac Electric Ltd with his business partner Bert McMath.  Les and Bert met when they worked together at Liverpool firm Elexcel Limited (brand name XCEL) which produced electric irons, fires, kettles, cookers & immersion heaters. Les had held a sales role in the company and Bert a technical role and between them they saw an opportunity to set up a business. Bomac Electric was set up initially to specialize in heating element manufacturing.

BOMAC partner with Powelectrics

BOMAC have been working with Powelectrics to develop a waste oil system with built-in telemetry enabling commercial food outlets to monitor and analyse their waste oil usage, minimising manual handling of oil and reducing environmental risk.
